Finally some progress

Yesterday I had my weekly dr. appt. and I am 2.5 cm dilated and 70% effaced. I woke up early that morning around 4am and felt some mild cramp like feelings in my stomach. The top of my belly also would get hard and then relax so I thought I was having contractions. As I got up after laying there for an hour or so in bed they seemed to lessen. I went on with my day attending my LLL meeting for the first time. It's nice to know there are other moms into breastfeeding. Right after the meeting I went over to my doctor appt. which I explained what had happened that morning. She said it sounded like contractions but probably more like braxton hicks. I didn't feel anything for the rest of the day at that intensity of how I felt at 4am. I am getting excited and anxious but more importantly I have to stay calm or I'll drive myself crazy.
Today I have not felt anything so I guess they were braxton hicks. However, it is good to know that I have made some progress as my body prepares for labor. I rather have some progression than none at all. Although I could stay like this and be a week late or even progress some more and be a week late. This is probably one of the hardest parts of being pregnant. Not knowing when birth will happen and the uncertainty of it all. What I do know is there is nothing I can do but just wait until she's ready to show up.
