We went to a local Christmas tree farm for the first time this year. We usually get our tree from the garden center or the hardware store but this time I wanted to do something a little more exciting. We packed the kids up and drove to the country well sort of the country. It really wasn't too far away but it was still nice to get out and try something different. We rode on a hay wagon pulled by a tractor that drove us to the field. They provided the saw and measuring pole. After searching for awhile we found one that wasn't too big for our living room. Richard had a fun time trying to cut the darn thing down. It's not as easy as it looks plus it was a little warm that day, about 70 degrees.
Rachel had a great time and kept asking to get the biggest tree she could find. We had to explain that we don't have a lot of room in our family room so we have to scale it down. As you can see in the photo up top she was demonstrating how tall she wanted her tree...."This big!"
