The Grandmas Visit

I was so glad that both grandmas were able to help out in the first few weeks Alex was born. First my mother-in-law came early and was here for a week to help out. Then my mom came next for another week. I don't know what we would of done without them! They were a big help, especially with entertaining Rachel. That has been the biggest challenge with two, is keeping a very active toddler occupied and on a routine.

I think both Grandma's enjoyed their visit, but were probably glad to have some rest when they returned home. My mom kept Rachel busy with going to the park and swimming at the YMCA. Both days that my mom took her to the Y to swim, she did not take a nap. My mom and I were dumbfounded! I have no idea how and why she did not nap because I know she was exhausted after swimming. However, my mom got Rachel in the pool swimming which was a shock to me because I thought Rachel would be too scared. My mom was working with her and telling her to kick her legs and use her arms to swim. She told me that Rachel is probably ready for swim lessons. I'm going to look into that for this summer.
