We decided to become members of the Houston zoo so that way we don't have to rush and see everything in one visit. We can come back as many times as we want for a full year for FREE (well with the cost of the membership). As long as we go 5 times in a year it will pay for itself. We have been to the zoo a few times already so it just made sense. We can't wait to take Great Grandma Sherry and Aunt Michele when they come to visit next month.
Today we started off in the Children's Petting zoo brushing the goats who were taking their morning nap in the sun. Rachel is finally back to liking them now and even gave some a few brushing. She's really into brushing her hair or her teeth so the word "brush" got her going. I think we must of brushed every goat there today!
We moved along after spending time in the children's area over to the giraffe and the meerkats. Rachel decided to blow kisses to the meerkats and thought they were little doggies. She loves dogs and anything that remotely looks like a dog...maybe anything that's furry, has four legs and moves?
We saw a beautiful aquarium with lots of colorful fish. Rachel crawled through the tube in one of the fish exhibits with mommy's help of course. She wasn't too sure about it so I had to crawl in there to get her to go to the other side. Oh the things we will do for our kids. I think I hit my head a few times! It's totally worth it and I know we both had a fun time at the zoo.
